My Story

My experience with art stretches back almost as far as I can remember. When I was little, our family participated in something called Art Happenings where creative ideas and creativity were free flowing.

Later on, as time went by, my parents, Janet and Christopher Graf, became involved in the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Art was everywhere, on the walls, outside, experienced in the form of theater, music, and mime. Creativity was simply part of our lives.

My parents started Woodlot Gallery in 1995. They wanted to explore the power of art and the way it transforms the human spirit. Janet and Christopher were described as art futurists, art visionaries and art champions as they moved within the world of art. The artwork featured in this website comes directly from their collection. I hope it brings you joy and illuminates your life, as it has mine.

Woodlot gallery showcased a variety of artwork, including original prints, paintings, and outdoor sculpture. Perhaps because my parents believed so deeply in education and the importance of creativity, they regularly invited preschool children from the John Michael Kohler Arts Center to visit Woodlot Gallery. The children were invited to explore and experience outdoor sculpture by climbing and playing on it. What a great way to involve children in the playful experience of creativity!

May your visit bring the same joy and unexpected discoveries!
