Curiosity

In all of our pages, we invite you to let your mind explore the world of art with wonder. Take a moment to consider this question – where might your wondering take you?

Then, take another moment to examine works of art in light of your wonderings. Choose a piece of art that speaks to you. You don’t have to know why. Focus on one aspect or area of the piece. What emotions occur for you? How does this art make you feel? You don’t have to understand it, just observe yourself.

Take inventory of your feelings and emotions. Explore your emotions, focus on the feelings. Next, choose a path to illuminate them. Have fun!

You can follow the prompts below with one, or several, pieces. There’s no wrong choice! You’re here for “you time”!

Ask the Character

Choose one of the many images. Pose questions to the character(s) within that image. Questions may help illuminate a problem, explore some aspect of a situation, or delve into an unreachable aspect of your life.

Listen carefully to your inner voice while viewing each piece of art. This process of personal introspection and problem-solving (as you remain visually present with each piece of art) is called Art Storming. Use this process to look at your questions from many different angles.

Take a chance. Be carefree. Be open to possibility.

Again, examine what feelings arise

Again, pay attention to any feelings that arise as you study an artwork. Where do they take you? Do they bring up any memories? Do they take you in one direction or another? Is the feeling new, in connection with the question you asked?

If you feel moved, jot down your feelings in a journal (Penzu) or maybe draw something to represent those emotions. It’s just for you.
